Thermostat for Lower Temperatures
نویسندگان
چکیده
Details are given concerning the construction and operation of relatively simple thermostats which permit maintaining precise temperatures down to 0 degrees C. (with water), or temperatures above that of the ordinary room, and in which the temperature may be quickly altered at short intervals to new levels.

Phase space structure and dynamics for the Hamiltonian isokinetic thermostat.
We investigate the phase space structure and dynamics of a Hamiltonian isokinetic thermostat, for which ergodic thermostat trajectories at fixed (zero) energy generate a canonical distribution in configuration space. Model potentials studied consist of a single bistable mode plus transverse harmonic modes. Interpreting the bistable mode as a reaction (isomerization) coordinate, we establish con...
متن کاملEffect of Injection Molding Melt Temperatures on PLGA Craniofacial Plate Properties during In Vitro Degradation
The purpose of this article is to present mechanical and physicochemical properties during in vitro degradation of PLGA material as craniofacial plates based on different values of injection molded temperatures. Injection molded plates were submitted to in vitro degradation in a thermostat bath at 37 ± 1°C by 16 weeks. The material was removed after 15, 30, 60, and 120 days; then bending stiffn...
متن کاملThermostat artifacts in replica exchange molecular dynamics simulations.
We explore the effects of thermostats in replica exchange molecular dynamics (REMD) simulations. For thermostats that do not produce a canonical ensemble, REMD simulations are found to distort the configuration-space distributions. For bulk water, we find small deviations of the average potential energies, the buildup of tails in the potential energy distributions, and artificial correlations b...
متن کاملDetermining Appropriate Heating and Cooling Thermostat Set Points for Building Energy Simulations for Residential Buildings in North America
Existing building energy simulation tools have a purported tendency to over-predict heating use and, in some cases, to under-predict cooling use, an outcome often attributed to inappropriate assumptions about thermostat management. As a result, a systematic review was conducted for the purposes of determining typical heating and cooling set points for single-family houses in North America. The ...
متن کاملA Linearity-Enhanced Time-Domain CMOS Thermostat with Process-Variation Calibration
This study proposes a linearity-enhanced time-domain complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) thermostat with process-variation calibration for improving the accuracy, expanding the operating temperature range, and reducing test costs. For sensing temperatures in the time domain, the large characteristic curve of a CMOS inverter markedly affects the accuracy, particularly when the operati...
